The Deepest Mysteries Of Black Holes Explained by Brian Greene

Black holes are some of the strangest and most fascinating objects in space. They’re extremely dense, with such a strong gravitational pull that not even light can escape their grasp.
For many years Black Holes were believed to be myths, but modern astronomy is proving the reality of the most powerful destroyers in the Universe.
Albert Einstein first predicted the existence of black holes in 1916, with his General Theory of Relativity. The term “black hole” was coined many years later in 1967 by American astronomer John Wheeler.
For decades, black holes were merely theoretical concepts. But in 2016 hundred years after Einstein predicted their existence, Scientists detected first sign of Gravitational Waves (ripples in space time) – these ripples are created by some of the most violent objects in the universe – Black Holes.
These ripples were detected by highly sensitive detectors in Louisiana and Washington State, proving Einstein correct.
